NC error "nc.windows.setup.24324"


When installing Network Connect (NC), the installation process fails with the error nc.windows.app.24324 "Network Connect driver installation failed. Please exit and try again"I believe you will be frustrated with this error message but don't worry follow the below mentioned steps to resolve the issue.

Perform the below troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue where applicable:
  1. Please ensure that users have administrative rights on the PC where the Network Connect client is being installed. If users have administrative rights but they are unable to install the Network Connect client, then perform the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Remove Juniper Client Components:

      1. Remove all Juniper Components (like Juniper Setup Client, Juniper Network Connect, etc.) from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. -> (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)

      2. Delete JuniperSetupControl from Control Panel > Internet Options > General > Settings > View Objects. -> (Windows XP)
        C:\Windows\Downloaded Program File -> 'Windows7'

      3. Delete the Juniper Networks Folder C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\ -> (Windows XP)
        C:\Users\sl092783\AppData\Roaming\Juniper Networks -> (Windows7)

      4. Delete the Juniper Networks Folder C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\ (Windows XP)

      5. Delete the Juniper Networks Folder from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\neoNCSetup.exe (Windows Vista and Windows 7)

      6. Delete the Juniper Networks Folder from C:\Program Files\ (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)

      7. Remove the Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter from Device Manager, click View on top > Select Show Hidden Devices > Go to the Network Adapter/ (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)

      8. Delete the Juniper Networks folder following windows registry entries: (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)

      9. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Juniper Networks and remove the Network Connect from the tree.

      10. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Juniper Networks and remove the Network Connect from the tree.

  2. Check Java Version and if enabled

    Make sure that the latest version of Java is installed on the client machine. (This is a must.)
    Also check whether the Java installed on the client machine is disabled or not. If the Java is disabled, then enable it. (Note: If Java is disabled for a long time, it is recommended to uninstall the existing version of Java and install a latest version of Java on the client machine.)

  3. Check Miscellaneous settings

    1. In Control Panel > System > Hardware > Driver signing > is this set to warn? If it is not, please try this setting. (Applicable for Windows XP)
      My Computer > 'Right Click' > Properties > Hardware > Windows Update / Device Installation Settings > Choose the second one 'No, let me choose what to do' and set it to any of the below three:


    Windows XP

    Windows Vista / 7

    1. Is Plug-n-Play enabled? If it is not, please try this setting.

      In IE6, try trusting the URL of the SSL VPN.
      In IE7, try Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level > Enable Download Signed ActiveX Controls

    2. Try installing the Network Connect standalone client from the Juniper SA SSL. Refer to the following procedures to install the Network Connect standalone client.

      1. Login as an administrator to the Juniper SA SSL VPN
      2. Navigate to the Maintenance > System > Installers > Network Connect
      3. Download and try installing the Network Connect standalone.

     
  4. If users do not have administrative rights on the PC then install Juniper Installer Service on the PC. Then try installing the Network Connect client. Please, refer to the following steps to download Juniper Installer Service and Network Connect standalone on the user's PC.

    1. Download and Install Juniper Installer Service:

      1. Login as an administrator to the Juniper SA SSL VPN.
      2. Navigate to the Maintenance > System > Installers > Juniper Installer Service
      3. Download and try installing the Juniper Installer Service.

      Note: While installing the Juniper Installer Service, the admin credentials are required.

    2. Download and Install the Network Connect standalone:

      1. Login as an administrator to the Juniper SA SSL VPN
      2. Navigate to the Maintenance > System > Installers > Network Connect
      3. Download and try installing the Network Connect standalone.
